Kannah Creek Farm
Quality Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats
Kannah Creek Farm is located in Western Colorado at the foot of the Grand Mesa, the worlds
largest flat top mountain, near Grand Junction.

We have been involved with dairy goats for almost 30 years, having raised and shown French
Alpines at first a 4-H project for our children and then as a family enterprise while living in
Indiana.  After our children were grown we dispersed our herd of Alpines and I retired,  we
decided to return to our home state of Colorado.  When we built a new home on a small acreage
we decided to get back into goats and felt that Nigerians would be a good fit for our small place.

After a lot of research we ordered three doe kids from Gail Putcher at
Gay-Mor Farm and two of these does have been the foundation of our herd.  It is our belief that
sire selection is key to herd and breed improvement.  Having what we felt were outstanding
pedigrees in our does we have concentrated on bucks that we felt would improve our herd in
each successive generation.  Since 1999 we have strived to implement this philosophy of herd
improvement.  At this point we are pleased with the result of each generation improving and
getting closer to the type of Nigerian that not only does well in the show ring but are true
productive dairy goats.

In the past we have only shown at a few shows each year due to the distance we have to travel.
We have been pleased with the show record of our small herd.  We feel that Nigerians purchased
from our herd will hold their own in any competition.  We milk the does in our show herd and
utilize the milk in producing our
Indian Creek Soap Company products which helps pay
for the feed and hay that the herd consumes during the year.

Beginning in 2005 our herd is dual registered with both
AGS and ADGA.

Thank you for visiting our site and if we can be of assistance in selecting a quality Nigerian from
our herd, please feel free to contact us.
